ON SITE CLASSES
We have classes in RUA RED & Maynooth Community Space, which will resume the week commencing 11th September 2023.
CLASSES
RUA RED: after school on Thursdays. All day Saturday.
Maynooth Community Space: After school on Fridays.
EXHIBITION 2023
Our annual exhibition was held in the Cafe space in Rua Red during May. The theme was 'Food' and it was an explosion of colour.
AGES
We offer on-site art classes in Dublin and Kildare for two age groups. We have Doodle Bugs (5 to 8 years old) and Doodle Buddies (9 to 12) years old.
Meet Your Teacher
Sarah-Jayne's passion has always been the arts. Her main qualifications are in Fine Art painting and in Art Therapy (Qualified and accredited member of the Irish Association of Creative Art Therapists) with many other qualifications in such diverse fields as group facilitation, genealogy, welding and drama to ceramics and pottery. She worked in art and drama education and facilitation in the adult and disability sectors before becoming an art therapist.
Doodlebox is run by a qualified, experienced and practicing art therapist. The gentleness of this approach combined with years of teaching experience provides a unique learning environment for all the children who attend.
What makes Doodlebox Different
Each year all Doodlebox students participate in our annual exhibition, held during May in the café space in RUA RED, South Dublin Arts Centre. Children show works on paper and fired ceramic pieces. We have a celebration opening and give the Leah Kelly Award, in memory of Leah one of our very first Doodle Bugs.

Each term, every student receives a Doodle Bag. The Doodle Bag contains all the art materials necessary to complete all the projects, and contains different materials each term. Over the course of the year the children will build up a good selection of quality materials that they can use at home after the term has finished.
MAYNOOTH COMMUNITY SPACE
We are delighted to resume our classes in Maynooth. The term will start on Friday 15th September.
Class times are as follows
2.15-3.15pm: Junior & Senior Infants
3.15-4.15pm: 1st, 2nd & 3rd classes
4.15-5.15pm: 4th, 5th & 6th classes
