We have ongoing classes throughout the year and we also host and support a number of events. Some are very dear to our hearts.
Academic year 2019-2020
Mid-term break is underway, classes resume on Monday 4th November and will run until Saturday 21st December.
Following on from a very successful first short course in Pure Pottery, we will be running a second short course, starting on 7th November. Children will be making seasonal decorative and functional pieces.
Annual Exhibition 2019
Our annual exhibition 2019 was a resounding success. Plans are underfoot for next year's exhibition already.
Introducing Pottery for kids September 2019 (adult classes starting in January 2020)
Due to the ever popular clay classes each term, we are now offering pure pottery classes for children. These classes will teach the basics of pinch, coil and hand building. The children will have a chance to make functional and decorative pieces which will be glazed and fired in a kiln, to earthenware temperatures. Due to the unpredictable nature of how clay can react during kiln firing, we will be working on the principle of "don't become attached to a piece until it's out of the second/glaze firing". Pots have been known to explode in both bisque and glaze firings. We are very excited to be offering these unique classes to children.
